Facilities: ABYC’s distinctive two story waterfront clubhouse is ideally located on property that has a large boatyard, boat slips, and guest dock. The boatyard has two hoists, (5,000 & 2,000 lb. capacity) and allows for keelboats, multihulls and dinghies. Racks are available for Lasers, Optimists and Sabots located at the head of a launch ramp. The Second Deck Dining Room and Quarterdeck Building are open for special events. The patio Galley serves breakfast and lunch on weekends all year long, and lunch Tuesday through Friday during the Summer Junior Program
Membership: Memberships are available for Regular, Yachting and Independent Junior Categories. Price of Regular (equity) membership is $1000. Minimum monthly charge for Regular Membership is $115.25. Price of Yachting Membership and Independent Junior Membership is $100 and $50 respectively with reduced monthly charges.
Comments: Alamitos Bay Yacht Club has earned a World Renown Yacht Racing Reputation. It is the home of many one-design fleets and its members have also achieved recognition for their accomplishments in PHRF and long distance ocean racing. ABYC is also noted for its Race Management Excellence and annually hosts Regional, National and International Regattas including the prestigious Olympic Classes Regatta. The Junior Sailing Program of ABYC includes FJ’s, Naples Sabot, Optimist Dinghies, and Lasers, and offers year round classes and features an outstanding Summer Session. The remarkable value of ABYC is made possible by its emphasis on volunteer member participation in both social and racing events. A Municipal beach sits adjacent to the boat yard.
