Comments: The London Bridge Yacht Club was chartered in June 2005. In keeping with our Mission Statement, we promote safe boating, provide social activities for our members and enhance the local community by actively sponsoring, hosting and participating in community events and projects. We maintain an active schedule of on-the-water and social events for our members, including Friday night dinner cruises. Since 2005, we have hosted the Journey of Hope riders as they pass through Arizona on their way to Washington, D.C., raising funds for people with disabilities. We have a separate non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation for which we hold various fundraisers to support local charities and organizations.
In 2006, the London Bridge Yacht Club took over the production of the Christmas Boat Parade of Lights. The Parade is our primary event and fundraiser. This annual event has been a cherished tradition in Lake Havasu City since its inception. We both sponsor and organize the event through committee. Thousands of spectators line the channel to watch the beautifully decorated boats cruise through the Bridgewater Channel and under the London Bridge. Information on entering or sponsoring this event can be found at lbycboatparadeoflights.com.
Reciprocal privileges are offered to members of SCYA.
