The 2017 midwinter regatta came to an end on June 19th after several weather delays. Despite southern California having one of the stormiest winters on record and many delays all the host yacht clubs were able to hold the regatta and the sailors took advantage of the opportunity to get on the water. We had almost 600 boats with over 2500 participants and volunteers at 26 venues. Check out the winners and photos of the events at scyamidwinterregatta.org/.
The committee is already working on the details for the 2018 regatta. It will again be held again over 2 weekends allowing the clubs to schedule times that will work best for there sailors. While the venues and classes are not yet confirmed many will me the same as previous years. We welcome your input as to hope we can further improve 89th running of the event. So make sure you keep the weekends of February 10/11 and 17/18 available and start your season with the Midwinter Regatta.
